Invest in the next generation of feminist leaders.
Despite being the largest generation of youth in history – 1.9 billion – young people are largely underrepresented in spaces of power (United Nations, 2024). Of these youth, young women and gender-marginalized folks face the most barriers.
The World Economic Forum currently estimates that it will take 134 years to reach gender equity (2024). Limited access to leadership opportunities, education, and mentorship all contribute to this delay, making pathways to success more challenging for women and gender-marginalized leaders.
By supporting Fora, you're investing in the movement for equity, inclusion, and feminist leadership.
A donation to Fora has tangible impacts:
Can help a young leader access critical decision-making spaces, from a Board of Directors to the halls of government.
$25
Can help more young leaders in rural/remote communities learn about Fora’s programming.
$50
Can cover the cost of a workshop facilitated by a subject matter expert for one young leader.
$90
Can help a young leader attend a full-day of in-person training.
$200
Welcome to Fora.
Fora is the plural of forum and is defined as a meeting place of ideas
Since launching in 2009, Fora has always placed young, gender-marginalized leaders at the centre of decision-making processes.
Through renowned leadership training, research, and community-building initiatives, we help young trailblazers gain new skills, confidence, supportive networks, and leadership opportunities. The Rise on Boards program is building more equitable and inclusive boardrooms across Canada.
Since 2017, Fora's Rise on Boards program (formerly Girls on Boards) has trained and placed 200+ emerging leaders from a range of backgrounds and experiences at the board table for the first time.
Prior to their board appointment, young leaders receive in-depth training from expert facilitators in matters of governance, financials, fundraising, communications, problem-solving, and leadership.
Throughout their term, each young leader is supported by a pre-selected board member and volunteer coach, and will also have the opportunity to connect with other participants in the program.
Rise on Boards participants gain:
Access to an incredible, experiential leadership opportunity
New skills in governance, financials, fundraising, professional communications, & leadership
The opportunity to create social change, impact organizational decision-making, & positively impact community
1:1 mentorship with established professionals who have been where they are

We're pilot testing a scaled-up model of our Rise on Boards program, so that even more young leaders can make their voices heard at the board table!
In response to both the demand and the impact of our Rise on Boards program in decision-making rooms across Canada, we launched a pilot of a scaled-up version of the program, called Rise on Boards+ (also known as RB+).
RB+ is allowing us to reach even more exceptional young changemakers by offering self-paced, virtual leadership and governance training, networking and mentorship opportunities, and access to a directory of non-profit boards interested in welcoming them to the decision-making table.

The Global Summit program is transforming decision-making spaces around the world, one young leader at a time.
Each year, 30 international Delegates are selected and connected with the skills, resources, and networks to amplify the reach of their gender equity, advocacy, and social impact initiatives. By bringing together these young changemakers for leadership development, advocacy, and policy engagement training, and community-building, the Global Summit program prepares Delegates to advance gender equity and social impact in their communities.
Delegates also have the opportunity to develop a Social Impact initiative to create and influence positive social change in their communities, which Fora supports through the guidance of a customized social entrepreneurship curriculum and mentorship.
From founding local non-profit organizations and community projects to advocating at the United Nations and other international forums for policy change, our Global Summit Delegates have gone on to advance gender equity and drive change in their communities around the world.

The Leadership Forum is one of Fora: Network for Change’s signature events — and one of the most impactful and empowering events of the year for young leaders looking to expand their reach for change. Hosted in Toronto, the Leadership Forum is designed to equip the next generation of decision-makers with the skills, insights, and networks needed to navigate and lead, even during uncertain times.
Each year, the Forum brings together exceptional young women and leaders who navigate gender-based discrimination, as well as professionals from the non-profit and corporate sectors, for a full day of training, mentorship, networking opportunities, and meaningful connection.
The Forum is curated by and for young leaders, though everyone of all ages and genders are welcome (and encouraged) to attend. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in thoughtful conversations, inspiring workshops and networking sessions among trailblazers and change-makers across sectors.

Words from our Young Leaders
“The in-person training sessions during Leadership Forum were amazing. We were able to have so many people with different lived experiences in the same room. Hearing the diverse perspectives of my cohort was incredibly valuable.”
Sahhara L.
“The transition to a board environment following the end of my time in the program was smooth. I was able to share my opinions very confidently. I often refer back to the training I got from Fora, where I was taught to be confident in my opinions, and not let anyone sway me, because I have the right to be there.”
Star L.
“As a Black woman navigating the nonprofit space, it’s been especially meaningful to be part of a community that values representation and inclusivity.”
Roshaydia M.
