Transforming sport in Canada so girls and women can reach their full potential.
Canadian Women & Sport is a national organization dedicated to advancing gender equity in Canadian sport and physical activity. Since its founding in 1981, it has worked to empower girls and women as athletes, leaders, officials, and participants, advocating for systemic change to eliminate barriers and create opportunities. Through partnerships with various organizations and leaders, Canadian Women & Sport develops resources, drives measurable change, and challenges the status quo to make sport more inclusive and equitable. Guided by values of integrity, respect, courage, and collaboration, the organization aspires to harness the power of sport to achieve equity for women in all aspects of society.
Mission
We are dedicated to creating an equitable and inclusive Canadian sport and physical activity system that empowers girls and women – as active participants and leaders – within and through sport. With a focus on systemic change, we partner with governments, organizations and leaders to challenge the status quo and to advance solutions that result in measurable change.
Vision
We aspire to achieve equity for women in society through the power of sport.
