During their candid conversation, Astrid Fontaine and Mmabathho Mokiti discussed:
ADVOCATING FOR SDG #5
Women continue to be underrepresented at all levels of political leadership. Women’s representation averages 24.2%. Globally, women account for less than a quarter of senior roles. And the inequality is worsening during this pandemic; a report by Care Canada found that in 25% of countries, governments had not made any funding or policy commitments to mitigate the impact of the crisis on women and girls. Rising Women: the NewNow and Fora Report on Young Women in Leadership examines how we can close the gap in female leadership globally. Young leaders from 8 countries held consultations with their communities to find out what governments need to do to close the gap and achieve progress. Join our webinar to hear from some of the young women who led the consultations and what recommendations they discovered.
LEADING TOGETHER DURING COVID-19
How can we create more opportunities to help cultivate the next one thousand or one million Gretas, Autumns, and Malalas? This is the question we asked in our latest report Leading Together: Young Women Building Collective Power in Canada. Download and read the report at Our Research. We want to better understand: what does leadership look like during a global pandemic? And how will these recommendations change as we re-open countries and begin an economic recovery? Join Fora and special guests to explore the consequences of Leading Together in the era of COVID-19.

POWER OF YOUR PUBLIC NARRATIVE
Public Narrative is a leadership craft through which we translate values into action. The Public Narrative model, originally developed by renowned community organizer and Harvard Kennedy School lecturer Dr. Marshall Ganz, is rooted in decades of organizing experience and informed by insights from social science and teaching in diverse contexts. By engaging the 'head' and the 'heart,' each participant will learn to tell their own story (a story of self), and will learn the theory behind how to also tell stories of us and now. They will go through a journey of exploring their childhood memories and searching for moments of agency that built their value system growing up, which in turn helps them make mindful choices as women and as leaders today.
Public Narrative is a leadership course developed and taught at the Harvard Kennedy School by Dr. Marshall Ganz. This pedagogy has been built by Dr. Ganz and Sarah El Raheb-Dagher. This workshop has been adapted for this audience by Tanvi Girotra.
GENDER-BASED ANALYSIS
Gender-based Analysis Plus (GBA+) can be used in any sector to guide the systematic consideration of gender and other identity factors throughout the development initiatives, policies and programs. There are differences in how people experience aspects of life from education to employment. GBA+ encourages us to examine how a situation can be experienced differently and is affected by identify factors. This workshop will examine the process, and participants will be equipped to integrate GBA+ in the work that they do.
