G(irls)20 Receives the Roy MacLaren Humanitarian Award at The Diwali Awards, 2020

Diwali celebrates light, and this year the Diwali Awards, 2020 shone a spotlight on G(irls)20 as an organization that strengthens the Canada-India ties and empowers young women to continue to initiate change at a global level. This year, G(irls)20 was honored to be selected to receive the Roy MacLaren Humanitarian Award.  

As we could not meet in person, our Acting co-CEO, Bailey Greenspon was excited to accept the award on behalf of the organization. In her virtual acceptance, Bailey spoke to the importance of making strategic investments in young women to provide them with training, networks and access to unparalleled opportunities.  

“I urge you to think about how you can empower the young women in your family, workplace and community to fully take their seats at the table. When we invest in young women, communities and countries benefit. G(irls)20 is working toward a gender equal future for women, regardless of their backgrounds. I want to thank the Canada-India Business Council for honoring G(irls)20 with the 2020 Roy MacLaren Humanitarian Award.”
